With a multi-electrode insertable flow sensor for hot-tap installation, the Marsh Multi-Mag Flow Meter eliminates the costly installation cut-and-splice operations and system shutdowns required with full-bore meters.
The Multi-Mag is economical for large line-size applications in municipal or industrial water treatment. In comparison, the total installed cost of tube meters increases as the nominal pipe diameter increases due to greater materials costs and installation complexity.
With multiple electrodes across the sensor body, the Multi-Mag continuously measures the average flow rate. It is highly accurate and repeatable--even under variable flow conditions. Accuracy is ±1% of reading ± zero stability from +0.3 to +20 ft/s, and repeatability is 0.20% of range.
The Multi-Mag services line sizes from 4 to 120 inches and is suitable for crowded equipment areas with limited straight-run availability. With no moving parts, its multi-electrode sensor contains nothing to wear or break. There’s virtually no maintenance and the cost of ownership is highly economical.
Applications include: distribution, effluent, filter balancing and backwash, pumping stations, and UV dosing. It is ideal for district energy facilities in cooling water, chilled water and HVAC systems, as well as the food/beverage, electric power generation and other industries.
